We are now booking our speaker and presentation dates for the upcoming season. Our presentations can be customized to meet your groups specific needs and interests related to Lilacs and our list of Plus plants. Together Roger and Evie have 88 years of knowledge and experience in propagating and growing Lilacs and other woody plants.We can provide plants for your organization fundraisers, for more information on prices, sizes and varieties please contact us. Syringa Plus always invites groups to come to the nursery during May's Lilac bloom time.

***Syringa Plus Lilac Walks***
Weekends in May, 2009
10:00 AM - 3:00 PM

Syringa Plus will be holding an open house, at the nursery location on weekends in May. We will have over 100 different Lilac cultivars in bloom, including many Berdeen Lilacs. The open house will also feature propagation demonstrations. Lilac bloom time varies annually. For optimal bloom time, or for more information, call 978-352-3301.

***Syringa Plus Hosts 2nd Annual "Amy In Blooom"***
Saturday May 16, 2009

10% of the proceeds from all Syringa Plus sales on this date will help raise funds for Amy's Treat. We had the pleasure of working with Amy here at Syringa Plus for many years. We miss her and wish to share her spunk and spirit on this special day.

***2009 Fall Lilac Festival & Plant Sale***
Saturday, October 3, 2009
10AM - 3PM

Syringa Plus will be hosting a Fall Lilac Festival, at the nursery location. Propagation and lilac planting demonstrations will be given and, of course, plants will be for sale. ILS members, New England Lilac enthusiasts and family and friends are welcome! Bring a lunch or order out from the nursery. For more information, call 978-352-3301.

International Lilac Society members, friends, and guests are invited to attend an informal ILS meeting.

King's Tree Farm and Nursery Flower Show
April 21-26, 2009

Kings Tree Farm & Nursery look forward to seeing you at their 2009 Flower Show April 21st thru April 26th. There will be at least 30 varieties of lilacs in bloom for you to enjoy! No admission charge, no parking fee and no traffic jams. All are welcome!

International Lilac Society Annual Convention
May 8th -
May 28-30, 2009

The International Lilac Society's annual meeting will be held at the Central Experimental Farm, Ottawa, Ontario Canada. The convention includes Lilac and flower garden tours, speakers, a Lilac Auction, and various other activities. Great food and conversation with the world's greatest Lilac enthusiasts.

Arnold Arboretum's Lilac Sunday
May 10, 2009
Dawn to Dusk

Join the Arnold Arboretum & the city of Boston for a day-long celebration of the Arboretum's Lilacs. The Arnold Arboretum features one of the premiere Lilac plantings in the eastern U.S. The Arboretum is open from dawn to dusk, with refreshments available from 10 AM to 4 PM. Lilac Sunday is the only day of the year picnicking is allowed at the Arboretum. For more information, call 617-524-1718 ext. 176.

 

McLaughlin Garden Lilac Festival & Plant Sale
May 22nd - 25th, 2009
9AM - 5PM

The McLaughlin Garden, located in South Paris, Maine, hosts its 12th Anniversary Lilac Celebration for 4 days this year. Perennials and Lilacs will be on sale each day (Friday through Monday).
Syringa Plus Lilacs will be among the plants on sale.
Admission fee is $5; members free. Schedule includes garden tours and lilac care workshops. The house, gift shop, and café will be open as well. For more information, call 207-743-8820.

 

Wentworth-Coolidge Mansion Lilac Festival
Sunday, May 24th, 2009
10AM - 4PM

The Wentworth-Coolidge Mansion, a National Historic Landmark in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, hosts an annual Lilac Festival. Come celebrate the historic Wentworth Lilacs, the oldest Lilacs in New England. The festival will feature special guest Professor Owen Rogers, Horticulture Specialist of the University of New Hampshire. It will also feature a presentation by Guy Giunta, chairman of the Governor's Lilac & Wildflower Commission. Lilacs from Syringa Plus may be purchased on-site. Proceeds from the plant sale will be used to help maintain the historic Wentworth Lilacs. The mansion will also be open for free tours, including special botanical tours.
